Definite lack of knowledge

Lack of knowledge

I'm at the stage where I try, with the emphasis on try, to invent some moves myself. In fact it is very very hard to really invent when skating has been around for a couple of decades. When you think you have 'invented' something you can almost be sure it has allready been done by someone, somewhere, sometime or otherwise it is no more than a combination of basicsteps with just a little twist.
But the mere attempt to find something 'new' which you haven't seen with your own eyes yet is worth the effort.
You ever heard of simultanious collective thought or invention? Some historians still wondering 'bout how this happens. It has something to do with the mental level of humankind and the way they evolve.
Anyway, this last week I have been trying a new, let's call it combination. Haven't seen it yet..I think..at least haven't noticed it yet. First tried it on my shoes which is difficult because you have to roll with this combination. Can't roll on shoes, but I had the whole thing planned in my head. Then I visualized it with my eyes closed (always busy with skating when I can't seem to fall asleep), and it looked groovy. So the next step is putting my skates on and just try!! Been really trying hard to get it done because I am so sure it CAN be done, but it just didn't work out. Puzzled how to accomplish this without asking for help (trying to 'invent' something remember) :-) Again the picture in my head worked perfectly but putting it into practice is a different story.

So today I had Masterclass again and was planning on asking on the end of the training how I had to do my 'new' thing. Guess what??? Today we learned a 'new' step......
Yeah, you guessed right, the thing I have been trying so hard to do these last 7 days, on my shoes, in my head, on my skates, through my dreams, and I really haven't told anybody. The most fun part was that the only thing I needed to know was that I had lo lean backwards, hang in a little to make the speed of rollin backwards. This part I have pondered on for so long.
Conclusion: DEFINITE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ON TECHNIQUE!! and nowhere near the stage of trying to find out new things myself (happens a lot lately but hey! been rollerjammin' for only 1 year now so it's bound to happen all the time this coming period).

It's very easy in fact, and not so much of an 'invention' or 'new' thing as it turned out to be, but I allready knew that. I did reward my own spirit for trying, but I'm also put back into place again :-D Still have so much to learn and fortunatly I'm eager to.

Good old fashioned rub

My toes are sort of rotten now because of the new skateboots but kept on skatin' anyway this evening. I felt very groovy and tried not to think that I had new skates on and it kinda worked. My friend asked me if I had allready gave them a massage to loosen them up, 'cause she was given that advice when she just had her new pair of skates; bring 'm to bed with you and then give a gooood rub but very tenderly :-) Guess I go and follow that advice now, gotta give 'm credit, tonight they followed my lead.

Had about 2 months to consider which colour to order before I actually got them. Been going back and forth between a lot of colours. First choice was deep purple, also an emerald green and lemongreen came passing by or maybe even yellow. Finally decided on pearly purple, a lighter shade like lilac.

Now why would I choose, pearly purple, silver laces and transparent wheels? Not so much to stand out in the crowd, but to wear them like a tag. Be kinda exclusive, be riding something unique (at least within a radius of 50 miles).

Quite sure there isn't a pair of orange skates with luminous green laces riding around (at least not in sight that is). But now it seems someone had the same excellent taste I have (that's a good thing :-) and ordered some pearly purple about the same time as I did. But it also means that in a timespan of 1 week there are 2 pairs of pearly-purple-silver-laced-transparent-wheels riding this country. If only I knew...I guess I should have asked beforehand.
Have gotten over my worst grief and some might think I'm totally insane about feeling
frustrated on something so futile as this. But it is NOT futile, well not for me anyway. If I didn't care I wouldn't have taken the time to even consider another colour than the black or white you can buy anywhere.
Since I do not have the money to buy me some other colour skates, got to do something else. When I was visiting Hong Kong I bought me some very nice laces in luminous yellow/lilac/black. I allready took out my silver ones and put these one in instead. They look quite happy now (my skates AND the laces). Have some spare black wheels, can change them too.

But to be honest, the best wheels for groovin' and grindin' at the moment are the ones underneath my orange skates. I feel they have been groovin' under my feet for a year now and they feel so damn reliable. Maybe I have to put these wheels under my new skates, drive the transparent ones outside on the streets to get them to wear out a little bit. Hmm, gonna ask some advice on this issue.
